Police Release Composite Sketch of Robbery Suspect

Police received the call shortly after 11:00 Monday morning. The Rite Aid on Western Avenue in Manchester was stolen. "We arrived and gathered information that he was a white man who had asked for specific elements of the pharmacy," said Trooper Jeff Beach of the state police in Maine. "He took off on foot. "State Police spokesman Steve McCausland said the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of oxycodone. The man had not shown a weapon, but managed to arouse the suspicions of some customers and staff. Keith Steward of Manchester noticed the suspect immediately."He came with his hood over his face you know and all covered," said Steward. "That's when I looked at the lady to me cash and I said jeez he looks kind of suspect. And she said, she said the same thing. It does not look suspicious. The next thing you know he was running out of store. "The Rite Aid store remained closed while police gathered evidence. Meanwhile the State Police and the Maine Warden Service continued their search well in the afternoon. The use of K-9 units they searched the area around Route 17 and Route Readfield behind the desk of the city of Manchester.Steward told the police where the suspect was led before he lost sight .. "Somewhere there had to be because he ran that way, I would have seen," he says, "so I thought it had to go this way or that way."
